These General Vehicle Rental Terms and Conditions govern the terms, rights, obligations, and responsibilities relating to vehicle rentals provided by Tahoma d.o.o., operating under the trade name “MTrent Rent a Car“.

By using the services of MTrent Rent a Car or by signing a Rental Agreement, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these General Vehicle Rental Terms and Conditions in their entirety.

Article 1 – General Provisions
These General Vehicle Rental Terms and Conditions govern the rights and obligations between *Tahoma d.o.o., operating under the trade name “MTrent Rent a Car” (hereinafter: “MTrent Rent a Car”) and the person or legal entity renting the vehicle (hereinafter: “the Renter”).
MTrent Rent a Car provides vehicle rental services to private individuals and legal entities in accordance with the applicable laws of the Republic of Croatia.
By using the services of MTrent Rent a Car or signing the Rental Agreement, the Renter confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Article 2 – Rental Requirements
To rent a vehicle, the Renter must:
• be at least 18 years of age;
• hold a valid driving licence issued at least one year before the start of the rental period;
• present a valid identity card or passport;
• provide a valid payment method.
Additional requirements regarding minimum age or driving experience may apply to certain vehicle categories.
Article 3 – Reservations
Reservations may be made through the website, by e-mail, by telephone or in person.
A reservation becomes confirmed only after MTrent Rent a Car confirms the availability of the requested vehicle.
If the reserved vehicle is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, MTrent Rent a Car may provide a vehicle of the same or a higher category at no additional charge.
Article 4 – Security Deposit
MTrent Rent a Car reserves the right to request a security deposit depending on the vehicle category, rental type or risk assessment.
The security deposit will be refunded after the vehicle has been returned, provided that there is no damage, traffic fines, additional charges or any outstanding obligations.
Article 5 – Vehicle Collection and Return
The rental period begins when the vehicle is collected and ends when it is returned and inspected by MTrent Rent a Car.
The vehicle shall be collected and returned at the agreed location.
Returns outside business hours are possible only with prior approval.
A delay of up to 30 minutes after the agreed return time will not incur additional charges. After this period, MTrent Rent a Car reserves the right to charge an additional rental day or another fee in accordance with the applicable price list.
The Renter shall return the vehicle in substantially the same condition in which it was received, with normal cleanliness and including all equipment supplied with the vehicle.
Article 6 – Use of the Vehicle
The vehicle may only be driven by the main driver or an authorised additional driver specified in the Rental Agreement.
The vehicle must not be used:
• for racing or competitions;
• for subleasing without prior approval;
• for transporting hazardous or illegal substances;
• for committing criminal offences;
• while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances;
• in violation of the traffic regulations of the Republic of Croatia or any country in which the vehicle is used.
Travel outside the Republic of Croatia is permitted only with the prior approval of MTrent Rent a Car.
Article 7 – Fuel, Mileage and Cleanliness
The vehicle is supplied with a certain amount of fuel and should be returned with approximately the same amount.
Minor differences in the fuel level will not be charged. Significant shortages will be charged according to the actual fuel price on the day of return.
Most vehicles include unlimited mileage unless otherwise stated during the reservation process or in the Rental Agreement.
Normal vehicle cleanliness is included in the rental price.
Excessive soiling may result in an additional cleaning charge.
Article 8 – Damage, Accident and Breakdown
In the event of an accident, theft, damage or mechanical breakdown, the Renter must immediately notify MTrent Rent a Car.
Where required by law or circumstances, the Renter must contact the police and complete all necessary documentation.
Unauthorised repairs or modifications to the vehicle are not permitted without prior approval from MTrent Rent a Car.
If the mechanical failure was not caused by the Renter, MTrent Rent a Car will arrange roadside assistance, a replacement vehicle or another appropriate solution, depending on the circumstances.
Article 9 – Insurance and Liability
All vehicles are covered by the insurance required under applicable law.
Insurance conditions and any deductible or liability of the Renter are defined in the Rental Agreement.
The Renter is liable for any damage resulting from gross negligence, intentional misconduct, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, using the vehicle contrary to the Rental Agreement or in any other case prescribed by applicable law.
The Renter is responsible for all traffic fines, penalties, tolls and any other costs incurred during the rental period.
Article 10 – Reservation Cancellation
Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled rental start.
Late cancellations or failure to collect the vehicle may be subject to charges in accordance with the applicable reservation conditions.
Article 11 – Personal Data Protection
Tahoma d.o.o. processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the applicable laws of the Republic of Croatia.
Personal data are processed solely for the purpose of providing rental services, fulfilling legal obligations and protecting the Company’s legitimate interests.
Article 12 – Governing Law and Final Provisions
These General Vehicle Rental Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia.
The parties shall endeavour to resolve any disputes amicably. If this is not possible, jurisdiction shall lie with the competent court in Makarska, unless mandatory provisions of Croatian law provide otherwise.
“Tahoma d.o.o.” reserves the right to amend these General Vehicle Rental Terms and Conditions at any time. Any amendments will be published on the official MTrent Rent a Car website and shall enter into force on the date of publication, unless otherwise specified.
